Our Story: The Heart Behind Cove Counseling Group
Founded on a shared passion for trauma-informed therapy, EMDR, and self-compassion practices that support healing and resilience.
Our Story
Cove Counseling Group was founded by Leah Aguirre, LCSW, and Diana Rabban, LCSW. The two first crossed paths in 2014 while working as clinicians at a trauma-focused, community-based program serving youth and young adults experiencing or at risk of homelessness. That program, Counseling Cove, became a powerful foundation for their clinical work and shaped them both as therapists.
Ten years later, naming their group practice Cove Counseling Group felt like a natural choice. Their vision was to carry forward the same culture: one that is inclusive, compassionate, warm, and welcoming to all who walk through the door.
At Cove Counseling Group, the focus is on helping individuals heal from the impacts of trauma and reclaim their sense of self. Through evidence-based approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other trauma-informed therapy practices, Leah and Diana have created a space designed to empower clients to heal, grow and reconnect with themselves.
Their shared hope is that every client feels seen, supported, and safe—finding a path toward healing, empowerment, resilience, and self-compassion in the process.
